Add video from YouTube or Vimeo, or upload a video file directly to a lesson.

Add a video

  1. Open Courses and select a course.
  2. Open the lesson you want to edit.
  3. Type / and choose Video.
  4. Choose one option:
    • Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link.
    • Upload an MP4, WebM, or Ogg video file.
  5. Wait for the upload to finish, then save the lesson.
Uploaded videos can be up to 1 GB. Keep the editor open while the progress indicator is visible. If an upload is interrupted, use the retry option.

Replace or remove a video

Select the video block to open its settings. Replace the link or file, or remove the block from the lesson. Save the lesson after the change.

Make it available to students

A saved lesson can still be a draft. Publish the lesson when it is ready, and confirm that its course is also published.

Troubleshooting

  • The file is rejected: Use MP4, WebM, or Ogg and keep it at or below 1 GB.
  • The upload stops: Check your connection, keep the tab open, and retry.
  • Students cannot play it: Confirm the lesson and course are published, then check the student’s course access.
  • A pasted link does not load: Use the public YouTube or Vimeo video URL rather than an editing or studio URL.
