Your academy and each course have separate publishing and access settings. Use this guide when you are opening your academy or troubleshooting what a student can see.

Publish your academy

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select General.
  3. In Publishing, select Publish academy.
  4. Confirm the change.
An unpublished academy is not available to students. Publishing it does not automatically unlock paid or members-only courses.
Unpublishing pauses student access without deleting courses, students, or learning progress.

Choose who can enter

In Settings > General, choose an academy access mode:
  • Open academy lets anyone with the link visit the academy. Course access rules still apply.
  • Invite only limits entry to people whose email address you invited. Signed-out visitors see a private academy screen.
To invite someone, open People, select Add student, and enter their email address. See Invitations and student emails.

Set access for each course

Open a course and select its access setting:
  • Free lets eligible academy members enroll without payment.
  • Paid requires a purchase through the course’s pricing or an offer that includes it.
  • Members-only requires you to grant access directly or through an offer or List.
Academy access answers “Can this person enter the academy?” Course access answers “Can this person open this course?” Both checks must pass.

If a student cannot see a course

Check these items in order:
  1. The academy is published and your Fayne subscription is active.
  2. The student is using the same email address you invited or granted.
  3. The course is published.
  4. The course contains at least one published lesson.
  5. The student has the required purchase, offer, or direct grant.
  6. If the course is not listed publicly, send its direct link or grant it from People.
  7. If you manage multiple academies, confirm that you invited the student to the correct one.

Manage students

Invite students, open a student profile, and manage access.
